Neptune's Tiger History Team: Week 14 DAY 1

Week 14 DAY 1

For the 14th week class, we were asked to search the following :

1.     Volks Gemehscheft

2.     Anshluss

3.     Liebensraum

4.     Appeasement

These are all related to Nazi Germany and Hitler, and according to Wikipedia, these are what the 4 things above mean :

- Volks Gemehscheft - Volksgemeinschaft is a German-language expression meaning "people's community".[1] This expression originally became popular during World War I as Germans rallied in support of the war, and it appealed to the idea of breaking down elitism and uniting people across class divides to achieve a national purpose.[2] At first it was used in both democratic and populist politics in Germany, but later it was adopted by the Nazis and became associated solely with them.

Anschluss - The Anschluss [ˈʔanʃlʊs] ( ) (spelled Anschluß at the time of the event, and until the German orthography reform of 1996; German for "connection" or union, political annexation[1]), also known as theAnschluss Österreichs (About this sound pronunciation (help·info)), was the occupation and annexation of Austria intoNazi Germany in 1938.[2] This was in contrast with the Anschluss movement (Austria and Germany united as one country),[a] which had been attempted since as early as 1918 when the Republic of German-Austriaattempted union with Germany but was forbidden by the Treaty of Saint Germain and Treaty of Versaillespeace treaties.

LLiebensraum - Lebensraum About this sound listen (help·info) (German for "habitat" or literally "living space") was an important component of Nazi ideology in Germany. The Nazis supported territorial expansionism to gain Lebensraum as being a law of nature for all healthy and vigorous peoples of superior races to displace people of inferior races; especially if the people of a superior race were facing overpopulation in their given territories.

  • Appeasement - Appeasement in a political context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an enemy power in order to avoid conflict.

  • 1. What was the topic of the day and what important parts were learned? Demonstrate understanding and application.
  • THe topic was about propaganda. And the 4 key words for it
  • 2. Critical thinking: was there a discussion? BHQ's? Give an analysis and evaluation; compare and contrast the scenario and find evidence of it happening elsewhere? Demonstrates analysis and evaluation.
  • There was some discussion about what was the meaning of the 4 keywords.
  • 3. What was done, who did it and how was it assessed?
  • To find the meaning of the 4 keywords. Everyone, google drive
  • 4. How was the team performance? What can be done to improve (how are we implementing Kaizen daily).
  • The team performance was bad, as we didn't do anything that satisfy us.
  • I think we can improve by strengthening our bonds and learn to rely on each other more.
