Week 11 Day 2
1. What was the topic of the day and what important parts were learned? Demonstrate understanding and application.
For today, we talked about the same thing as day 1. This day, the teacher explained 'how people thought about nazi'. We got into a more deeper understanding regarding this topic and this is one of our coursework file from a team member for this day :
Section 1:
Summing up Germany in the 1930
Kaiser Wilhem abdicted and fled to Holland creating a vacuum.
It was crushed by the ToV: economics burden from war reparations, loss of major industrial areas.
Weimar Republic, new, unstable
Rampant poverty. reduction of GNP (GDP)
Great depression, stock market collapse USA
Failed harvests
France seized MORE territory when Germany failed to make payments in 1923 (coal areas)
SWR
the more they don't pay the land got taken
Summing up Germany in the 1930s
The Nazi party begins. The National Socialist Workers Party.
They had a solution
A young man. poor started joining the meetings, named Hitler.
By 1932 The Nazi Party was the largest in the Reichstag (German Parliament)
In 1933, the president of Germany (Hindenburg) appointed Hitler as Chancellor (Prime Minister) (This was a trick by the Nazis.)
The trick:
He then made common cause with Hitler, persuading President Hindenburg to appoint Hitler chancellor and himself vice-chancellor. He promised the president that he would restrain Hitler's worst tendencies and that a majority of the Cabinet would go to non-Nazis. As Hindenburg's current chancellor could no longer gain a majority in the Reichstag, and Hitler could bring together a larger swath of the masses and a unified right/conservative/nationalist coalition, the president gave in. In January 1933, Hitler was named chancellor of Germany.
Media was taken over (goebbles)
Education was modified to political purposes (use today anyone?)
Jews became targets (in 1941, Jews became “enemies of the state” and were rounded up for prison camps as well.
In 1933 Hitler and the Pope signed a “corncordat” Agreement, for the Pope to recognize Hitler’s government and Hitler to allow the church to remain in Germany.
Industry improved, unemployment dropped to almost “0”
Hitler commissioned Ferdinand Porshe to design a “Volks Wagon”
prora = 10 million rooms.
People idolized Hitler because of the he gave them.
They couldn't see the one in the background
Because Hitler is so good to them they cant see that hitler is bad.
Re-armament begins
Proclamation freedom to rearm rally in 1935
Autoban created. Worlds fastest highway
2. Critical thinking: was there a discussion? BHQ's? Give an analysis and evaluation; compare and contrast the scenario and find evidence of it happening elsewhere? Demonstrates analysis and evaluation.
There was not really as much discussion as other classes that we've had but there is someone from our group who has to present in front of our group and she has prepared slides for the teaching, here are her slides :
These are just some examples of slides that she had done for that teaching day. She explained about people's thought on hitler, nazi and other extra informations that the teacher did not told the classroom, we had to take down notes from her power points as we do not know some informations.
3. What was done, who did it and how was it assessed?
There was an explanation held in class, like any other class time. But then, one of each of the team members from each group has to teach the other group members and bring them into a deeper understanding about the subject provided. Some of our group members however, they argued with the teacher that day about the subject/topic we have covered in class, in both day 1 and day 2.
4. How was the team performance? What can be done to improve (how are we implementing Kaizen daily).
The team performance was okay for today. We managed to take in each others opinion so that we can have a better understanding and see it from other people's point of view, not just ours. We can also understand why people think/feel that way towards the Nazi party, Hitler, etc. There are a lot more informations that we have learned. Overall, the team performance have been better, but it was okay for the day.
This is the reflection that the person who is teaching for the day has to do :
LdL TEAM TEACHING REFLECTION AND SELF ASSESSMENT

Reflection Points (give a brief answer in a paragraph or less ):
1. How well did you prepare for this assignment?
I prepare this assignment pretty well. I tried mixing in with comedy on the ppt to make it more engaging. Well my group members became engaged, but I think it's more to engaged because of the jokes ._.
2. Are you satisfied with your performance?
Yup. But maybe it was a bad choice to put too much jokes._. My team member ended up focusing too much on it
3. What can you do better next time?
I think what i can do better next time is my depth knowledge. I need to insert more depth into my research. even when i research, i feel that its not quite enough.
4. What did you do really well this time?
I think what i did really well this time is engaging my team members. I manage to attract my team members to actually catch all this info. This is a really deep material as everyone say and it's the hardest of all the topics)
5. Which team member are you assigning to teach next?
Brandon is gonna teach next.
6. What did you learn REALLY WELL as a result of this assignment (what will you understand and remember a for long time)?
What i learn really well because of this is about hitler, the nazi and more. Hitler was a really loved man by germany and improved a lot of things. But he paid a big price.. he killed a lot of jews and killed everything he considered as an obstacle.
