Week 5 day 2
This day we have to finish our landscape. Today we have a Chinese new year celebration so we don't have history class. Instead we use the time of our Chinese new year celebration for doing the landscape. Today is the deadline and we barely finish half of it ._.
So we decided to speed things up.
After using our dismissal time we finally manage to finish this landscape
Below is more or less of what we had done:
this is made with: - Clay
- Newspaper
- Scissors
- Wires (for the barbed wire)
- Asturo
- Glue
- Cardboard
This is a very colourful landscape of ours. We use our imagination of abstract colours and we insert it here. The green is for the military stuff (where the officers are) The red is for the blood that is poured out by the soldiers. The brown is for the ground and the yellow is for the grenades or land mines and some other weapons. The big weapons like the howitzer is made by blue clay. Blue means that it is a weapon for taking away lives and there will be sad emotions cause of that. So we pictured it as the weapons is crying for killing people. We also used wires for the barbed wires.

HISTORY ESSAY
Germany had
been drawing up their plain for war since 1897. They had intentionally planned
on declaring war with France. The Germans thought that the France would be
weak, therefore it’ll be easier for the Germans to capture them. This battle
landscape is about the war that happened at the 3rd of August 1914 between
the Germans and the French. Germany had declared war on France, and in just
hours, France makes their own declaration of war to Germany, already preparing
their troops for war. This landscape consist of two separate trenches, one for
Germany and the other for France. It shows the war going on between Germany and
France. Both sides have a strong artillery, in which they could use against
each other. This war is happening at night, since Germany had declared
the war at noon. There were lots of people dead. A majority of people dared
themselves to go though the no-mans-land, trying to get to the enemy’s trench
and ended up killed. A few of the soldiers got killed because they’ve gotten
themselves stuck in the barbwires or they had accidentally stepped on some
mines that was planted and some stayed in the trenches and shot any incoming
invaders. As it is in the landscape, the ground that they are battling
in is really unstable. The trenches are unclean and there are lots of corps
lying around since some people had been killed in the trenches due to diseases
and gun wounds. The soldiers had never bothered to clean the trenches out.
2. Critical thinking: was there a discussion? BHQ's? Give an analysis and evaluation; compare and contrast the scenario and find evidence of it happening elsewhere? Demonstrates analysis and evaluation.
3. What was done, who did it and how was it assessed?
4. How was the team performance? What can be done to improve (how are we implementing Kaizen daily).
1. What was the topic of the day and what important parts were learned? Demonstrate understanding and application.
For week 5 day 2, what we did was basically continue the project, since we had to finish it by the end of the day. Yesterday, one of our teammates have already made the ground base for the war ground and we just needed to add weapons, people and some paints. We learned some new stuffs about WW1 and about the war that happened between Russia and France during that time. The things that we did reached till 5 o’clock in the afternoon since there was too much to do in just one day.
2. Critical thinking: was there a discussion? BHQ's? Give an analysis and evaluation; compare and contrast the scenario and find evidence of it happening elsewhere? Demonstrates analysis and evaluation.
There was a discussion on what weapons to built for the war model that we made. We have decided to make the weapons with clay and some pylox paint to cover the clay. We also need to paint the base of the bridge with different colors so that we can have a picture on where to put the weapons and soldiers that we have made. The result was quite good, based on the model, and the essay too.
3. What was done, who did it and how was it assessed?
When we had finished the model, we were told to take a picture with the model and the essay, and send it to schoology. Any person who didn’t send get 0 for their project, even though the one of the team members already submitted, you have to submit the picture yourself. It went pretty well, considering we finished right on time. It was teamwork.
4. How was the team performance? What can be done to improve (how are we implementing Kaizen daily).
The team performance was great, at times. Since sometimes, a few teammates doesn’t work, and they only make some weapons, whereas some other work a lot more to finish the project and the essay all at once. Overall, the teamwork wasn’t that great for some people, the one who mostly did the work was only around 2 to 3 people. We can improve a lot more on our teamwork next time.
this is us discussing what we needed to do next to make the model and the essay better
